You now know what automation is, where your opportunities are, which workflow to start with, and roughly what it's worth. This module turns all of that into an automation that's actually live and doing work.
1. Map the process as it works today
Before building anything, write down every step of the task exactly as your team does it now — where the information comes from, what gets done with it, and where it ends up. Include the awkward exceptions. You can't automate a process nobody has written down, and this step often uncovers steps you can simply delete.
2. Define the trigger, the steps, and "done"
- The trigger — the exact event that should start the automation (per Module 1).
- The steps — which parts follow simple rules, and which need an AI step to read, extract, sort, or draft something.
- What "done" looks like — the record created, the message sent, or the person notified. If you can't describe the finished result, the automation won't know either.
3. Keep a human in the loop at first
For anything customer-facing or money-related, start with the automation preparing the work and a person approving it — a drafted reply waiting for review, or an invoice queued rather than sent. Once it's been right consistently for a few weeks, you can let it run on its own.
4. Test with real examples before you launch
Run the automation against a batch of real past cases — including the messy ones — and check every result. Decide in advance who gets alerted if something fails, so a broken step never goes unnoticed.
5. Launch, monitor, and improve
Automations aren't "set it and forget it." The software your business relies on changes, your processes change, and new edge cases appear. Check results weekly for the first month, fix what breaks, and then use what you've learned to pick the next workflow on your list.

0/8Rather have it built and run for you?
Everything in this course assumes you'll build and maintain your automations yourself. If you'd rather have that handled — automations designed, built, monitored, and improved every month, with $0 upfront — that's exactly what Suntex Labs does.
